UV-C TECHNOLOGY
DISINFECTING LIGHT
Ultraviolet light (UV-A, UV-B and UV-C) is the natural irradiation (energy) that comes from the sun.
Ultraviolet-C, produced by the sun is a shorter wavelength of ultraviolet irradiation between 200-280 nm. It is a shorter wavelength and more powerful than UV-A and UV-B. UV-A penetrates the atmosphere and delivers approximately 95% of its irradiation (energy) to the surface of the earth. UV-B (more powerful than UV-A) delivers approximately 5% of its irradiation (energy) to the earths surface. UV-C (the most powerful irradiation) does not penetrate the atmosphere and is dissipated in the ozone layer.
UV-C irradiation (energy) delivered through Germicidal Ultraviolet Lighting kills pathogens and viruses, including the COVID-19 Coronavirus. UV-C High Intensity Non-Ionizing fixtures tuned to a wavelength of 253.7 nm (commonly described as 254) is considered the most effective method to kill pathogens and viruses.

HOW DOES UV-C WORK?
The RNA / DNA of a microbe can be altered. Since a virus is not a living organism – it cannot be killed. It can be inactivated. UV-C wavelengths (254nm) have high energy that alter RNA / DNA in microbes. This energy destroys the nucleric acids altering the structure of RNA and inactivates the virus.
